Ministry

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

Volunteering at Assisted Living

As you take a peek at our ministry please keep in mind you cannot work your way to heaven! One distinctive of our ministry is that we do ministry work together as a family. This has helped us to avoid many of the "good" things that come along for individuals to do and keeping our family on the same page focused on Him.

Works should be an out pouring of the love for our Lord Jesus Christ, they are not means or a way to be saved. And for us it's also an out pouring of love for our children. In whom we desire them to be mighty of spirit and dedicated to whole hearted service. You'll notice we really increased our mission involvement in 2011 and we began focusing more on service in 2010. So we are new and these things are the works of the Lord in our life, not our works. This is the journal of a family that doesn't have it all together and surely doesn't have all the answers and definitely has nothing to boast about. But if you want to check out a family with a well developed ministry mindset families check out our friends the Hendricks or Mary Oystn at Olwhaven whose adopted about 10 kids! I'm listing our activities as a way to encourage everyone that you can find a place to serve while faithful executing your responsibilities as parents with little children. If you tend to feel guilty for what you are not doing you are not allowed to read anymore and you need to go immediately back to the home page.

The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. Proverbs 29:7

Our first family mission trip

This was the first year our family has gone a mission trip. It was difficult traveling with two 10 month olds after my knee surgery. One of the best things was that we were able to observe the Marshall's who attend one of our sister churches. We really learned a lot about raising children to serve with whole hearted devotion. We had a great time of fellowship and our faith was strengthened. This mission trip was in Texas.

Bullet volunteers at the food bank as a sacker
It is to our children that we want to emphasize the fact we are always on 'mission'  and always looking for opportunities to serve. So last year we also began volunteering at the food bank once a month. This year we are going to volunteer at the church pantry, we are going to try to do it 2X a month but who knows how many times we'll actually be able to do it with the twins! We also want to a lot time in our scheudle to meet the needs of others.

Did you know one of my favorite songs is "God said it & I beleive it" simple and to the point :).
